When considering facial filler injections at any plastic surgery facility, it’s important to be aware of potential risks. While many side effects are temporary and serious complications are rare, they can include asymmetrical appearance, bleeding, bruising, redness, itching, and pain/swelling at the injection site.
There’s also a risk of vascular complications including embolism or skin necrosis, acute or delayed inflammatory reactions, skin damage leading to scarring, infection, formation of lumps or bumps, and numbness in the treated area. In extremely rare cases, individuals may experience vision problems, weakness, discomfort, or pain on one side of the body related to embolic events after the procedure, needing immediate medical attention.
